F.A.Q.

Q. SHOULD I WALK UP TO THE WINDOW OR GO THROUGH THE DRIVE THRU TO PLACE AN ORDER?

A. Destination Taiwan is not designed as a drive-through. Most customers are willing to walk up to the window to place their orders. If you prefer to purchase products without leaving your car, please take extra caution when driving up to the window, maintain a safe distance from the menu board light box.

Q. ARE YOU CASH ONLY?

A. Yes, we are cash only, although sometimes we do weigh the facts about a situation and make an exception for some customers. Please understand that receiving cash helps us maintain low prices and results in mutual benefit for both our customers and business.

Q. DO YOU HAVE GLUTEN-FREE MENU?

A. If you are gluten-free, Destination Taiwan is not an option for you. Most of our foods have gluten in it, including gluten-friendly Braised Pork Rice.

Q. CAN YOU CREAT A SEPARATE, SET MENU THAT IS GLUTEN-FREE?

A. Sorry, it’s not gonna happen. It's not realistic to make gluten-free foods in a kitchen where gluten is present. That being said, unless the whole kitchen itself is gluten-free, your food likely won’t be gluten-free at most restaurants.

Q. DOES YOUR FOOD CONTAIN MSG?

A. We don't add msg. However, a lot of ingredients we use contain msg, such as soy sauce, ketchup, dressings, condiments. No matter what brand they are, being labeled or not. So, Yes.

Q. DO YOU OFFER LOCAL DELIVERY SERVICES?

A. As we are strict adherence to safe food handling, practices, guidelines, and hygiene standards, we do NOT use third-party delivery services for our products, such as DoorDash, GrubHub, UberEats, etc. We are aware that once the food leaves the restaurant through a third-party delivery service, we are not able to have any control over preventing contamination or a loss in quality. We only performs direct-to-consumer (DTC) services to our customers.

Q. DO YOU SERVE PAD THAI?

A. We don't. Pad Thai is a traditional Thai dish. Taiwan and Thailand are completely different countries in different regions. Although we are capable of making it, serving popular foods that belong to other countries and cultures is not consistent with our business ethics. We encourage you to visit local reputable Thai restaurant operated by Thai natives who are staying true to the spirit of the original.

Q. DO YOU OFFER GIFT CERTIFICATES?

A. Yes, we do. A gift certificate may be purchased for a value of $25.00 balance on each of the gift certificate. Please note that the gift certificates are not refundable, except where required by law. Any gift certificate purchased with a remaining cash value of less than $5.00 is redeemable in cash.

Q. HOW LONG DO I NEED TO WAIT AFTER PLACING AN ORDER TO RECEIVE MY FOOD?

A. If your order includes noodle dishes, the waiting time will be around 20 minutes. If there are no noodle dishes, your order will typically be ready quickly, usually within 10 minutes. The waiting time also depends on the size of your order—the larger the order, the longer the wait time. Additionally, during peak hours, your food may take longer to prepare. We will do our best to shorten your waiting time while ensuring the quality of your meal. Please understand that rushing the order will not speed up the process. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Q. WILL PLACING AN ORDER BY PHONE SAVE TIME?

A. Although small orders placed by phone may not save much time, large orders definitely will. However, please note that you may still have to wait a little when you arrive to pick up your food. For certain items, such as beverages, we only prepare them when customer shows up to prevent the ice from diluting the beverage. Similarly, to ensure the best taste and texture, pancakes won't be ready before customer arrives. We need additional time to cook them to perfection after customer shows up.

If, for any reason, you are unable to pick up your order on time, please be sure to inform us by phone. We will be happy to reschedule your order. Please note that the restaurant will not call customers proactively. Any orders that have not been picked up within 20 minutes and for which we have not received any notice from the customer will be considered abandoned. If you arrive significantly late, the following consequences may occur: first, you may need to join the queue again, and second, some of the popular items you ordered may have sold out, and we won't be able to reserve them for you.
